Emily Mai Chen (21-22) Emily created a short documentary film that traces the history of anti-Asian rhetoric and imagery and conveys the experiences of young Asian Americans as they grapple with prejudice and racism in American society.
Jacob produced a documentary that explores how those who live with mental and neurological conditions use comedy therapeutically.
Benoit (Ben) Gaucherin (16-17)
Using vintage film equipment, Ben created an experimental film, based on indepth study he did of four key avant-garde filmmakers: Maya Deren, Norman MacLaren, Jonas Mekas, and Stan Brakhage. The film and the background research is housed on his website
Daniel conducted interviews with New England fishermen about how efforts to curb global warming and overfishing have affected their daily lives and the communities in which they live.
After conducting in-depth research on societal fear of sharks, Isabelle learned to animate and made a film on the value of sharks in the ecosystem.
