The 2023-2024 Senior Capstone course, in its tenth year, seeks above all to work with students to acquire sophisticated skills in:
- developing essential and research questions,
- conducting intensive multimedia research,
- refining presentation abilities, and
- producing an in-depth, sustained project that unites threads acquired through their middle and high school careers at Boston Latin School.
Students will launch their own independent Capstone projects, guided by the course teachers and faculty mentors, and refine skills in the process that are essential to the success of their projects.

Students will devote the year to refining a set of questions and developing a research proposal and budget, conduct primary, secondary, and field research in support of their projects, document the process regularly as it unfolds, culminating in a final project. This final project may take multiple forms, depending on the essential questions it addresses, and will be due in early spring.

All students will present their work in TEDx style 18-minute talks at the Senior Capstone presentation symposium for the entire school community.
